Gwen Hughes has crooned from Paris to Istanbul, but calls Atlanta, GA home. Her music collaborations are diverse: stage performances mixed byT-Bone Burnett, recordings produced by John Driskell Hopkins (Zac Brown Band), remixes from Mark Alston (Three 6 Mafia), and tours
with John Mellencamp and Stephen King (Ghost Brothers of Darkland County).
The former Ambassador to Slovenia, Joseph Mussomeli, proclaims: “As a performer and a person, Gwen is a delight, and the music that pours–actually, gushes–from her band is stirring and refreshing.” The US State Department sponsored two tours of the band through Eastern Europe.
As an actor, Gwen has appeared on Donald Glover’s “Atlanta,” as well as appearances on “Stan Against Evil” (IFC) and “Murder Comes to Town” and “Dead Silent” (both on Investigation ID). She's even been a character in a detective novel: Philip DePoy's Dancing Made Easy.
Offstage, Gwen was a Board Governor with The Recording Academy, a Johnny Mercer “Artist in Residence with GA Music Hall of Fame, and a songwriter for Otis Redding Music Camp. She advocates for music education all over the world and has led seminars in the US, Slovenia,
Kenya, Morocco and France.
